Situated along the Florida’s Gulf Coast, Alligator Point is best reached by car from Tallahassee roughly an hour away to the north on Florida Route 30. Once you pass through Bald Point State Park, you will be on the narrow peninsula that is Alligator Point. Best known for what is best described as powder white beaches, this is a nature loving ape’s best chance to see a perfect beach on the continental US shores. This is also where people say the wilderness is as close as you can get to unspoiled without inventing a time machine.

The local community is easy to navigate as there is one main road. If you go too fat right or left, we will send a submarine to fish your car out of the beautiful blue waters of the Gulf. Speaking of fishing, this is a community that understands the lure (And yes, that was an intentional pun. Deal with it.) of a boat and time spent sitting one the water with nothing better to do but figure out how many lies to tell about the one that got away.

The attraction is countered by the direct impact of storms in the Gulf, so insurance can be a little high, but if buying or building you can be assured of two things here. One is that the contractors are well versed in local regulations and take every conceivable precaution against harsh weather. The other is that every permanent resident is a better forecaster when it comes to storms than any television news ape. So you can come for a visit, or be a smart ape and grab a spot on the beach and stick around. We’ll save you a spot, but you are on your own for putting on sunscreen.
