The town of Astor is in the northeastern corner of the county and sits rigth next to the St. Johns River between Lake Dexter and Lake George. This locaiton also puts the town of 1,500 people in the middle of several state parks, where visitors, residents and lots of fish and game see who can be the better in a game of wits. It's usually the beer cans that win.

In terms of location, this is 45 minutes to the west of Daytona Beach, so if you get tired of fishing and boating on the lakes or river, you can hit the beach. All in all, this is where the wise old apes should look at when picking a place to retire. Even the apes who aren't looking for a palce to retire should look at a home here. This is a well situated place for anyone who likes living where the can relax when they really need to.
