Cities in Broward County FL

Just South of Fort Lauderdale , Dania Beach was originally founded by Danish settlers in 1907. Initially incorporated under the name Modello, and officially renamed to Dania Beach in 1999, this quiet town was once one of the largest producers of tomatoes in the world. Surviving multiple hurricanes and fires in the early half of the 20th century, today Dania is home to several generational families, each contributing to the rich history of this tough little town.

A number of antique shops continue to be a major draw for both tourists and visitors from the larger metropolitan area. This is also home to the Design Center of the Americas, the largest on campus design center in the world. You sporting apes may have heard of another Dania company – BassPro Outdoor World. There is also a strong industry in boating, so be ready to talk both fishing, and heading out to open waters here.

With twenty thousand people calling it home, Dania Beach also features multiple waterways and the International Game Fishing Association museum. If you are a water ape, then you must give the oldest city in Broward County a look.
