Less than an hour drive to the north west from Orlando, the town of Grand Island is home to 2,700 people who enjoy living between the lakes of Yale and Eustis. In the past there were rivers connecting the two islands, but these have been built over with causeways to make driving easier. This made the once true island into more of a division between two separate lakes, but the feeling that you are surrounded by fresh water is still there. Given that feeling, it is no wonder that fishing, boating and general water activities are so popular in town.
