Cities in Broward County FL
Luther Halland and Swedish immigrant Olaf Zetterlund, both saw the sense in living where land was plentiful and frost was an extreme rarity. They founded the settlement of Hallandale Beach in the late 1800’s. Originally named Hallandale, it was a trading post on the Florida railroad, but grew to it’s present size of over 40,000 residents and in 1999 the city officially changed it’s name to the more descriptive Hallandale Beach.
The city is located between Fort Lauderdale and Miami, with access to the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood and Miami International airports, Port Everglades, Port of Miami, and I-95. So no matter how you want to get there, you can.
One of the most notable features in Hallandale Beach is actually two. The Gulf Stream Park, which is one of Florida’s best known horse racing venues, and Mardi Gras Gaming, which hosts dog racing for six months a year. For the salt water and fish-loving ape, you’ll appreciate the variety of water venues here, not to mention anything that catches your apish eye during the day, or by dark - the night clubs and dining at night are all within easy access.
Florida has a lot of great places to visit and live. Hallandale Beach gives all of them a run for their money. Do you have something to add about this City?
