Cities in Gadsden County FL
Back in the early part of the 20th century, a small town 16 miles north of Tallahassee on route 27 was named after Havana, Cuba thanks to the trade done in tobacco. When the majority of the cigar industry moved to other parts of the world, the town all but disappeared. But recently the shops in town have been doing something that most commercial endeavors do not do. They started working together instead of seeing each other as competition. This has made the local art and antique trade bloom and started to revitalize the town of 1,700 people. Their motto is “Florida’s Friendliest Town” and it shows. In any case, we’d rather see you without the cigar. Ever try and get cigar ash out of ape fur? To say nothing of one stray cinder. WHOOSH! Flaming ape running around with a cigar in it’s face. Funny, but really a sad way to go.
This is more than just a tiny spot on the map. This is a town where people genuinely care about their community and take part in making it a better place to live and do business. That’s an example more apes would be smart to follow. So follow the road north of Tallahassee and visit. We wouldn’t be surprised if you put up a shingle yourself and stayed for a while.
