McDavid is indeed one of those small Florida towns that people often miss. The best way to get there is to head north on Florida Route 95 out of Pensacola and stop after you get to the 36 mile mark out of the city. Just where Route 95 and West Bogia Road meet, pull over and take a picture. You will have become one of the few non-western Florida apes to discover McDavid. If you drive around the small country roads, see if you can find relatives of Joel McDavid and ask why the town is named after him. With only 3,200 folks around, it will be easier than you think.
