The history of Mulberry, Florida can be tracked back to the mid 1800s. Although there were settlers in the area, no name was given to the district. The city of Mulberry grew from the existence of a Mulberry tree, in fact, when the train would pass through the area, it would drop the mail off at the Mulberry tree that grew next to the train tracks. The tree not only became the namesake of the town, it was the center point of the community! As the years passed by and the shipments of mail became much larger a railroad station was eventually built right next to the tree and was rightly named Mulberry. In 1886 the discovery of phosphate ore was found in the Peace River and started the phosphate boom that financed the economy of the city for years to come. The first post office was moved from a town called Kingsford and was established in 1900 prompting the incorporation of Mulberry into an official city in the early part of 1901. The phosphate industry stabilized the community, and by the year of 1904 the population had expanded to around 2,000 settlers. With the town becoming a booming city, it began to take form as a scene from the wild, wild west! Nearly every man holstered a weapon and shooting became a common occurrence. As there was no jail to be had in Mulberry, the closest sheriff was hours away in Bartow, there was no law and no order for many years. While Mulberry has grown into the incredible town that it is today, looking back into its rich history brings to life the struggles and strife?s that our ancestors endured to give us what we have today!

Offering 500 acres of magnanimous golf surrounded by 16 lakes, hundred year old oaks, and beautiful wooded forests. Reservation Golf Course is 18 holes with 5,470 yards of challenging golf with a par of 70.

Mulberry has brought over 3,000 residents to its city limits.
