Cities in Wakulla County FL
Part of Tallahassee, Florida Metro area, St. Marks in Wakulla County Florida has 300 resident apes. Having once been a gulf port built by the Spanish in the 1600s, currently St. Marks still whispers of its past with a lighthouse constructed in the 1800s at the mouth of the river. While it has seen better days, you can almost imagine what the area looked like back then, particularly because the lighthouse still works. One of the key attractions in this region is a Wildlife Refuge established in the 1930s to protect migrating birds. It’s one of the very first refuges in the National Wildlife system, spanning over 68,000 acres. In addition to appreciating nature, apes thinking of moving here may enjoy boating, fishing, horseback riding, or eating outstanding seafood. Hey, don’t eat it all -- leave some for visiting apes!
