Cities in Brevard County FL
Titusville Florida is in Brevard County and home to the US Space Walk of Fame – perfect for a star gazing apes enjoyment. Here our ape can see all the men and women who shaped space exploration.
Titusville is over 100 years old and going strong. It was named after the confederate solder Col. Henry Theodore Titus. At that point in history the area was called Sand Point. Once he and his wife settled, they built a hotel, a court house, and four churches as well as designing the town’s streets. Titus won a match of dominoes played against Captain Rice in 1873 to earn the right to name the town.
In the late 1800s Titusville started work on a bridge across Indian River, giving smooth access to Desoto Beach and Playalinda. So if an ape wants to do a little sun worshiping, it’s not far off the beaten path to a Tan. For the working ape, a lot of big name companies have made offices in and around this area including Grumman, Boeing, and TWA.
Titusville recently got mention in Readers Digest as having a great view of Cape Canaveral for launches, being only 30 miles away. Do you have something to add about this City?
