Walnut Hill is a small community in Escambia County Fl. You’ll find it off Highway 99 between Atmore, Alabama and Pensacola Florida. There is some disagreement among historian apes as to whether Walnut Hill was misnamed. Some say settlers mistook local pecan trees for walnuts. However a local centurion says that the local Little League park did indeed have many walnut trees years ago. The town was founded in 1816 by John Gaylor. During the later part of the Civil war the Florida 13th Calvary camped in this region.
