Located in central Florida, Brevard County, West Melbourne is only a fifty mile drive away from Kennedy Space Center. It was founded in 1959 since which time its expanded its borders about 10 square miles. The current population hovers around 17,000 apes. West Melbourne has a City Council of 7 members including the Mayor.
Perhaps one of the most attractive features of West Melbourne is that it hosts six municipal parks in which an ape can play freely. These are: Westbrook park, Bryant Adams Park, Tallwood Park, Jan Lieson Crossroads Park, Clements Wood Park and Hammock Lake Park. West Melbourne has strong ties with both Melbourne and Palm bay.
